Denmark Student Visa (Residence Permit for Studies) Requirements

Individuals planning to pursue higher education in Denmark must apply for a Residence Permit for Studies before entering the country. Applicants are required to hold a valid passport that remains valid for the full duration of their intended stay. A Letter of Admission from a recognized Danish educational institution is mandatory and must clearly state the program details, duration of study, and confirmation of enrolment.

Applicants are required to upload all necessary documents, including academic transcripts, certificates, and proof of English language proficiency (such as IELTS or TOEFL results, if applicable).

Proof of financial capacity to support living and study expenses during the stay in Denmark must be demonstrated through relevant documents, such as recent bank statements, sponsorship letters, or proof of financial support from parents or guardians. Applicants must also submit proof of health insurance coverage valid for their entire period of study in Denmark.

A Statement of Purpose (SOP) is recommended, outlining the applicant’s educational background, reasons for choosing Denmark, academic objectives, and post-study plans. Applicants must also provide details of accommodation arrangements in Denmark. Depending on the applicant’s nationality or background, a medical examination or police clearance certificate may be requested.

Processing times for a Danish student residence permit can vary depending on the applicant’s country of residence and the time of year. Therefore, it is advisable to submit the application well before the academic program’s start date to avoid delays.
