USA Visit Visa (B1/B2) Requirements

1. Valid Passport

  • Must be valid for at least six (6) months beyond your intended stay in the U.S.
  • If you have old passports with previous visas — bring them too.

2. DS-160 Form (Online Application)

  • Complete the DS-160 form online at the Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC).
  • After completion, print the DS-160 confirmation page with the barcode.

3. Visa Application Fee

  • Pay the non-refundable visa fee.
  • Keep the payment receipt, which is required for scheduling your interview.

4. Visa Appointment Confirmation

  • Schedule an appointment for a visa interview at your nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate.
  • Bring the appointment confirmation letter on your interview day.

5. Photo Requirements

  • Recent color photo (2x2 inches), white background.
  • Taken within the last 6 months.
  • Must follow official U.S. visa photo guidelines.

6. Supporting Documents

Prepare documents that prove your travel purpose, financial stability, and ties to your home country:

✅ Personal Documents

  • National ID / Birth Certificate
  • Marriage Certificate (if applicable)
  • Family documents (spouse/children info)

✅ Financial Documents

  • Last 6 months’ bank statements
  • Income proof or salary slips
  • Tax returns (if available)
  • Property or business ownership documents (optional but helpful)

✅ Employment / Business Documents

  • Employment letter (mentioning position, salary, leave approval, and duration)
  • Business registration/trade license (if self-employed)
  • Company bank statement

✅ Travel Purpose Documents

  • Invitation letter (if visiting family, friends, or for business)
  • Travel itinerary (flight bookings, trip plans)
  • Hotel booking confirmation

7. Interview at the U.S. Embassy

You’ll attend a short interview (typically 3–5 minutes). Be prepared to:

  • Explain the purpose of your trip clearly.
  • Show that you will return to your home country after your visit.
  • Present financial and personal ties to your country.

8. Biometrics & Passport Submission

  • Fingerprints and photo will be taken at the Visa Application Center (VAC).
  • If approved, your passport will be kept for visa stamping.

  • Usually 5–10 business days, but may vary by embassy and season.
